Packing List

General Dress Code from Ridge Haven:

• Modest swim wear is required. No mesh or suits that expose a bare midriff (girls). Swimwear is appropriate to be worn only at and to and from lake or pool areas.

• A t-shirt or its equivalent must be worn to large-group meetings.

• Underwear should not be visible for young men or young women. [I don’t think this is an issue but Ridge Haven says to pass it on]

• In general, make sure clothes are in good taste, but suitable for getting dirty/hiking/etc.

*Heads up for some themed clothing for you and students - totally optional, but fun!

  • Tropical Tuesday

  • Black for Mission Impossible

  • Jersey Thursday

  • Fun/crazy, western or Hawaiian for Barnes Dance

  • Freedom Friday (Team USA, red, white, and blue)

Packing List (5 days worth) in case you need one

• Spending money - Camp store should be open at various times: T-shirts, snacks, random stuff middle schoolers buy.  Maybe $30-50. All meals will be at camp so anything spent is voluntary, but the ice cream is worth a stop. No offsite meals this year.

• FANS - for airflow and white noise. Some cabins are not air conditioned.

• Bible/Notebook/Pen - Devotions happen daily and the focus is ultimately the word of God.

• Prescription meds - Epi-pens/daily meds.

• Flashlight - Sometimes useful in cabins and for night hike

• Water bottle! - Refillable. Talk about hydration before hand. They’ll hear about it often, but they also forget

• Sunscreen/Probably a cap for sun protection. We’re usually in the shade but sometime walk along sunny roads

• Bug spray - Not used often but for a couple of the activities it’s desired

• Swimming suit - Shorts for guys/One-piece swimsuit or tankini for girl. Many girls wear shorts also with swimsuits.

• Towel for lake

• Towel for showers

• Pillow/Sleeping bag/Sheets - Sheets are useful because it can be warm depending on particular cabins. Most are not air conditioned but we’re in the mountains and it’s cool enough.

• Athletic shoes - Sufficient for hiking and sports. Water/shower/pool shoes (recommended)

• Clothes for 5 days & and extra - Think undergarments, shorts, t-shirts, socks, etc. If we do climbing wall with harness, sturdier shorts are required (athletic shorts are too thin)

• Hygienic & Grooming Needs - Personal size shampoo, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste. Whatever girls need.

NO SMART PHONES - Group leaders use discretion for medical devices.

NO ELECTRONIC DEVISES - Game players,  listening devices, etc. Cameras are allowable with discretion

Other Good Ideas

• Plastic/trash bags - For the return of wet/dirty clothes (usually all of them but some are usually worse)

• Expendable clothes - Set of clothes for potentially messy events that don’t need return the same

• Clothes for Special Events: Something fun for Barnes Dance (no, this is not a boy/girl dance, no dates but deodorant is still encouraged). Camo or dark clothing for Mission Impossible (A nighttime group game)

Some Church Group Recommendations

• Cleaning supplies (Basic cleaning/disinfectant spray, paper towels)

• Large Trash Bages
